   Marty started playing drums at the ripe old age of 8, and came from a very musical family. His father was a teacher of clarinet and sax, and played with various symphonies and concert bands as well as the Navy band back in the day. And his mother played French horn and oboe with various symphonies and concert bands as well. Oldest brother Bill played French horn with the US Air Force, brother Bob played French horn, brother Rick played tuba, brother Mark played clarinet and sax, brother Kurt plays keyboards. However Marty is the only one to actually take it to a professional level. He has played in dozens of bands through-out the years, and still does,. including The Shakes, which were managed by Starz Guitarz in San Francisco, and sponsored by the soft drink Orangina,. The Jimmy Lyon Band, who wrote such hits as Two Tickets To Paradise/Baby Hold On To Me for Eddie Money,. He has also recorded and toured nationally with The Greg Kihn Band and is featured on the "Unkihntrollable Live CD" along with guitarist Jimmy Lyon(Eddie Money/Tina Turner/John Waite), Steve Wright on bass, Duane Hitchings(Kim Carnes/King Kobra) on keyboards and Doug Clifford(Credence Clearwater Revival) sharing several tunes on drums. He is currently playing in dozens of bands including The Bundy Browne Band, The Penetrators, Art & Ronda Najera, The HOTZ, Time Machine, The Rodeo Clowns, The Hit & Run Band, The Famous Hits Band, The Joint Chiefs, Set In Stone, Les Browning, The Breaks, The Beat Monkeys, Hiway 4, The Shakes, Marshall Coleman, Hari Kari, Bad Medicine (a Bon Jovi Tribute), Jamies Cryin’ (a Van Halen Tribute), New Normal, and Nashville recording artist Andy Joe Stewart,.. and many others. He is also hosting his own jam nights in various clubs in the SF Bay Area including,.The Pioneer Saloon in Woodside, The Villa Roma in Redwood City, The Pine Street in Livermore, The Huddle in Fremont, Rplace in Livermore just to name a few. Currently playing drums and vocals with The Van Burdon Project is one of his most fun projects to date. They are all top notch musicians, and can all sing like birds.He is looking forward to many years of success, and playing some great venues including festivals and casinos, and private parties and events in the future.
